Get Outside: Kevin Quain Sunday at the Cameron House
October 9, 2009This weekend we give thanks for all the musicians that drag their gear around this town night after night, especially The Residents. No, not the band, the players who perform regular showcases at our local taverns, keeping the place warm for us for when we wander in.
As we crowed about in our film with Justin Rutledge, The Cameron House is always a choice spot for residencies, especially now that Kevin Quain is back in his Sunday slot. The Toronto singer is a madman of the best sort, a conjurer of stories about vampires, drunken sailors and other misfits and sonics lifted from the worlds of jazz, cabaret and punk troubadours. Perfect fix for a chilly October night. Every Sunday starting at 10pm, PWYC into the hat. Cameron House at 408 Queen Street W.
