Haydain Neale of Jacksoul R.I.P.
November 24, 2009Sad news tonight for the Toronto music community. Haydain Neale, lead singer of Jacksoul, has died from lung cancer at the age of 39. According to a statement released by his family, The Juno-award winning singer passed away Sunday, November 22 after a seventh-month long, private battle with the disease — this after recovering from a car accident in 2007 that put him in a coma. For many of us, the last we heard from Neale was that he was in rehabilitation and working on a new Jacksoul record, due out next week. This news of his death comes as a shock and early reports are vague on details but you can read more about Neale’s life and the new record in the coverage from The National Post. Really sad to hear this today. His music was so uplifting.
