Thanks for Coming Out To The Drake. Go See D-Sisive Tonight.

June 18, 2009

Thank you everyone who came to the City Sonic bash at the Drake last night.

Hope you squished into the underground in time to see Lioness and Woodhands and of course our first five films but if you were directed instead to the lounge you were lucky indeed — for you were treated with quite the DJ set from Damian Abraham of Fucked Up. Not only did he spin only Toronto bands, he spun exclusively their earliest 7″ vinyl singles, essentially in chronological order! He had previously blogged about tossing in a couple for the poseurs. Since I only recognized two of his tracks (BB Gabor’s “Soviet Jewelry” and Blue Peter’s “Chinese Graffiti”), I guess that makes me one?

You’ll see more of Damian The Record Geek in the City Sonic film Anita Doron just shot with him at Rotate This. For now…watch out for party pics on our Flickr page….

If you’re still doing NXNE, we recommend tonight’s set by Toronto MC D-Sisive. We’re in production on a film with him and will be there to watch him showcase at Bread & Circus at 11:20pm.
