Sunday nights at 11. City Sonic. Aux TV. And you. If you haven’t been implementing this regime throughout November, this weekend is your last chance. Tune into Aux (Rogers channel 107) for the final episode of City Sonic TV, featuring films on the Evolution of Queen Street. Of course that means we’re talking the Cameron House, the Drake Hotel and the like with artists such as Justin Rutledge, Sarah Slean and Brendan Canning. Our half-hour programme airs on the AUX network Sundays throughout November, starting November 8 at 11pm EST. You’ll get to see 5 short films about Toronto’s music landmarks – like Maple Leaf Gardens, The El Mocambo, Massey Hall and more. You’ll learn more about these places and these films from me, your humble host. And you’ll be reminded that yes, music television can be about music again.

November 2, 2009Is it November already? It feels like we just started digging around for City Sonic stories and yet here we are with 20 finished films
and a brand new TV show.
November is City Sonic month on www.aux.tv our broadcast partner in crime. AUX is a newfangled TV channel with old-school ideas. Like that music TV should have actual music on it, for one. And so Sunday nights starting November 8, AUX will air City Sonic, the series. Hosted by Liisa Ladouceur (uh, that’s me), each 1/2 hour episode will showcase a different theme. We’re starting with films about Toronto’s musical landmarks and will go from there. More details on all of that to come but right now we want to tell you how you can score something for nothing.
To celebrate the premiere of City Sonic on Aux, we’re having a contest.
