Wanted: Your Nuit Blanche Cameron House stories & snaps

October 6, 2009

While we’re resting up post-Nuit Blanche, we’d like to hear about your experience with the City Sonic installation at the Cameron House. Did you catch Napoleon rappelling up and down the walls to re-do his famous ants? Were you hypnotized by Rob Pilichowski’s visual wizardry? What did you think of Justin Rutledge’s surprise live set?

Share your memories below or on our Facebook page. Or add your photos to our Flickr group. Here’s a neat one to inspire you.

Get Outside: Nuit Blanche at the Cameron House

October 2, 2009

We know you’re going to Nuit Blanche. We know you’ll be walking right past the Cameron House. And we know you’re going to want to stop in. Because for One Night Only! City Sonic takes to the street to present a special multi-media installation combining video projections and live performance.

Join filmmaker Rob Pilichowski (who directed our film with Justin Rutledge at the Cameron) and visual artist Napoleon Brousseau (who made the famous “10 Ants” that crawl on the club’s outside walls) for “The Cameron in Motion.” Napoloeon will be there restoring his ants and crowning a new Queen. Rob will be expanding on his film with original projections . And inside? Well, they’re serving booze until 4am, and you just never know who may appear on the Cameron stage…

Please join us for this special City Sonic event celebrating the living legacy of music and art at The Cameron House and Queen Street West.

Ten ants. Tenants? The Cameron House has both. In our City Sonic film with Justin Rutledge and Bazil Donovan we explored the magic that happens inside the Cameron. But we’re fans of its exterior as well. That’s why for this year’s Nuit Blanche, City Sonic will be presenting a special multi-media installation at the Queen street bar/hotel. Called Cameron House in Motion, its comprised of video projections by director Rob Pilichowski and a  ”restoration performance” of the famous ants that crawl up the walls by artist Napoleon Brousseau.

We are delighted to announce this partnership between City Sonic and Nuit Blanche. See you October 3 after dark..
